Shenzhen by the District: Luohu

Luohu is Shenzhen’s smallest and oldest district. While it is not the most beautiful district (many of the buildings are older and slowly falling down) the area has a lot to offer in terms of nature, shopping and cuisine. The district also hosts the city’s business district and has the most direct link to Hong Kong.

Places to visit

Wutong Mountain 梧桐山View In Map

The artistic heart of Shenzhen, Wutong Mountain is a national park surrounded by a hipster artist village. The village below the mountain hosts many different galleries, artisan shops and a large art museum. The mountain itself is a tough hike but features beautiful scenery, clean air and amazing views from the top. It is a great place to check out during the week: the mountain is so popular that traffic on the weekends becomes a total nightmare around the villages and the hiking routes are crowded.
