The Shanghai Greenery and Public Sanitation department is currently conducting a trial of a new scheme whereby residents can swap domestic trash for park tickets and supermarket points.
To earn the points, residents simply need to separate their rubbish appropriately. The trial area affects around 200,000 residents and will expand to other parts of the city if it’s successful.

Hurray! My compound already has this. I didn't know there was an incentive! I was just happy to be able to put my kitchen scraps and various other separables in their proper bins!
