Right on the heels of New Street Chapel was the Zhushu Church, which was built in 1849. Destroyed by fire in the early 1900's, it was re-built again only a year later, and in its current incarnation has been done in red bricks trimmed with white eaves. Though church doors were closed during the Cultural Revolution, this port-side house of worship has been holding services for more than two unbroken decades.
