Yiling Caves (Yiling Yan) [伊岭岩]

Large View

Description

The Yiling Caves is a complex comprised of some of the largest caves in Guangxi, welcoming many visitors who come to see the stalagmites and stalactites, or take refuge from the hot summer sun, as the caves have a constant temperature of 18C. The caves cover an area of 24,000 square meters, and a tour through them takes about an hour. The caves can be quite wet, and visitors are advised to wear appropriate footwear and carry an extra layer of clothing.

There are a number of other spots in the area that can be incorporated into a trip to the Yiling Caves the most famous of which is Lingshui Spring (Soul Water Spring), where a swimming pool has been formed quite naturally by a spring in the area.

Getting There: Buses from the station on Chaoyang Lu heading toward Wuming County will stop at Yiling Caves.
