Nanhu (South Lake) Park looks over Changchun city and provides a popular place for locals coming to picnic and relax. The huge lotus plants growing at one end of the lake are an interesting feature, but in winter you'd be better off packing your ice skates than your gardening gloves: the entire lake freezes over & is used for ice hockey and skating.
A safe and friendly place to visit, the park is not especially beautiful, but is a great place to visit for the views alone. The lantern & folk art festivals held here in midsummer and autumn are particularly good times to visit.
