Xia'men International School Hiring Art and Music Teacher, In the Mainland

Teaching Language: English is our primary language, it would be helpful if you understand a little bit of Chinese
Total Teaching Periods: up to 22 teaching periods of 40 minutes. Overtime rate: 200RMB per teaching period
over 25.
Regular School Hours: 7:55am‐5:10pm with a 70min lunch break
Compensation:

DOE (25‐32,000RMB per month)
Housing Allowance
12,000 Travel Reimbursement
MSH Medical Insurance (includes dental)
Holidays:

All regular Chinese holidays (Follow makeup schedule as well)
We cannot offer a winter break, but will offer seven personal days that can be used during fall semester
Spring Festival 3 weeks
Summer: ~6 weeks
Additional Duties: These depend on teacher’s individual teaching load

Co‐curricular activities: 1‐2 periods per week.
Personal study supervision: Supervise or provide tutorial for student study time. If Personal study is only
supervision, then it is calculated as half a teaching period. If the period is used as a tutorial, then the
personal study period is calculated as a teaching period.

House time facilitation: Supervise and facilitate house time activities 1 period per week.
Night Study: Rotation for all teachers. Days will be determined based on the number of teachers and
monthly schedule. Teachers will likely do night study 2 times per month.
Additional expectations:

Standard teacher paperwork: grading, monthly reports
Standard teacher participation: parent meetings, teacher meetings, one weekend PD event per semester,
special school events (e.g., graduation), and occasional marketing events. Teachers will be given exchange
time for weekend work that is not a government makeup day.
