Job Description
The Hainan Middle School has a growing International Department in need of qualified foreign teachers. Our teachers teach English to students in Grades 1-11, students earning their VCE Australian High School Certificate, and students preparing for IELTS and TOEFL exams. This is an excellent position for long-term ESL teachers who can bring their experience to the table, as well as ESL teachers who are interested in developing their professional skills.

Foreign teachers will collaborate with their Chinese coworkers to ensure that English lessons are interesting and engaging. Student ESL lessons will follow a curriculum set by the department, with foreign English teachers focusing on listening and speaking lessons.

Our foreign teachers will teach up to 20 classes a week, Monday-Friday to students of varying ages and English levels, with occasional weekend and evening events (approximately once a month).

Our school is located east of Haikou’s Central Business District and only a few minutes away from shopping centers and downtown nightlife. The school is 5km away from Haikou East Railway station, which offers easy transportation to Haikou Meilan Airport and Sanya.

Job Responsibility:

1.Make the teaching plan based on the curriculum provided by school
2.Weekly teaching time is 20 classes, 40 minutes per class
3.Weekly office time is from 8:00 AM-12:00PM, 2:30PM-6:00PM
4.Manage classrooms effectively; maintain good student discipline
5.Give stage-by-stage assessment on students’ academic achievements and learning potential on a regular basis
6.Participating in teaching and research and coordinating with the supervisor to accomplish research tasks
7.Attending orientation, professional conferences, weekly meetings
8.Participation in Open Days and Parent Conferences
9.Participating in promotional and marketing activities organized by the school
10.Attending sporting, cultural and special student activities，such as acting as a judge for contests and attending holiday celebrations
11.Please note that our department covers students of all English levels in primary, middle, and high school, with the majority of classes being taught at the middle school level. Teacher preferences will be taken into account when dividing workload among foreign teachers. Successful applicants will be able to teach multiple grade levels according to the department curriculum.


Job Requirement:

1.Native English Speaker from USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand.
2.Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
3.And one of the following:
1)At least two years of current full-time teaching experience (college/university level teaching, language school/ESL experience, and volunteer work do not count towards this requirement)
2)Teaching Certification from the Department of Education in your State/Province/Country (issued before the time you come to China)
3)TESOL/TEFL certification from a recognised institution (TESOL should be minimum 120 hours)
4.Enthusiastic, dynamic, responsible and reliable

4. Support:
- assistance with paperwork for spousal and child visas, as necessary
-language assistance with apartment hunting and other personal business items (setting up a bank account, scheduling medical appointments, etc.), as needed
