Key Responsibilities:
 Oversees and implements the college counseling process for the Upper School.
 Supports the students with testing strategies for required tests such as the SAT or ACT.
 Serves as a primary contact for students, parents, and college admission representatives for the School.
 Guides a specific group of students and families as they undertake the college selection, application, financing and enrollment process.
 Creates and participate in evening and weekend events and activities designed to enhance the knowledge base of WMAQ families in the college selection, admission, and enrollment process, as well as participate in selected recruitment events for the school.
 Leads and participates in the committee that writes, reviews and refines the WMAQ letter of recommendation sent to each college and university to which students apply.
 Represents WMAQ to universities and colleges and maintains strong communication with college admission deans and directors so that they are well informed and up to date about the school, its offerings, its quality and its integrity.
 Supports the school in the development of the IELTS / TOEFL English language examinations.
 Directs all major mailings from the college counseling office to the WMAQ community.
Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:
 Bachelor's Degree and at least 3 years of experience in college counseling or college admissions, (Experience in China is preferred)
 Ability to communicate proactively and effectively with all constituent groups, including students, families, faculty, staff, and administration from diverse backgrounds (religious, ethnic, socioeconomics etc.)
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Chinese in addition would be beneficial.
 Familiarity with highly selective admissions at recognized universities in USA and elsewhere  Demonstrates personal integrity and professional ethics
