Middle School English Teacher at North America International School

About the School:
North America International School is a bilingual international school located in Shanghai. We started in August 2018 and we are looking for dedicated, experienced teachers who can help us build an authentic student centered curriculum that meets the needs of 21st Century learners. Our students are native English language learners who have intermediate and advanced skills and aspire to go on to top universities around the world. Classrooms at North America International School have a warm atmosphere that provides a space of confidence and comfort for students to develop the academic and social skills they will need in the future.

Job Description
Teachers hold primary responsibilities for the implementation and development of curriculum and the success of its students. We seek teachers who are committed to continuously improving curriculum and instruction through collaboration as part of a grade level team.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards;
Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards;
Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices;
Participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions;
Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior;
Be accountable for students' academic performance;
Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.

Qualifications
Drive to improve the minds and lives of students in and out of the classroom;
Proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom;
Mastery of and enthusiasm for academic subjects;
Evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player;
Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred; and
Minimum of two years teaching experience


Location: Minhang District, Diannan Road No.159
Class size: around 20 students
Working Schedule: 8:00-17:00, Weekends off
Holidays:Chinese public holidays and summer/Winter holiday
