One community in Kunming was reporting a high number of bird attacks while walking home at night. One particularly indignant victim, Cui, conducted his own investigation into the attacks by camping out at night with a torch and a camera, in hopes of catching the attackers in action.
His sleuthing revealed that the attackers were two owls, and that the vast majority of attacks happened whilst the victims were on their cell phones.
To test his theory that the cell phones were the cause of the attacks, he walked around at night with his phone. Whilst the screen was dark, nothing happened, but as soon as his phone lit up with a text message, the owls flew over to him.
According to experts from the Yunnan Wild Animal Park, owls are highly sensitive to light and may be mistaking the moving light of a mobile phone for small mammals.

Even the owls find their yelling on the phone disturbing and uncivilized.
