This year's national college entrance exam, or gaokao, will be held from June 7 to 8.
9.42 million students are registered to take the test this year- 30,000 more than last year. The number of students who took the exam peaked back in 2008 at 10.5 million.
The number of gaokao test-takers declined steadily from 2008 to 2013. Experts say the recent increase in test-takers shows that the situation has stabilized.
