Xi’an Xianyang International Airport to Offer 72 Hour Transit Visas

Xi’an Xianyang International Airport to Offer 72 Hour Transit Visas
Apr 18, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Xi’an Xianyang International Airport was recently approved by the state council to offer 72 hour transit visas to citizens of over 51 countries. Visitors who travel through Xi’an will be able to leave the confines of the airport and explore the area within a 72 hour time limit, provided they have a pre-booked flight onto a third country.

The visa isn’t available, however, to people who wish to book a return trip; if you want to visit China for the weekend and head back to the country you originally flew from, you still need to obtain a tourist visa before arrival.

For more details on which countries are included in the new visa regulations take a look at the airport’s website.
