Football fans throwing iPhones onto the field? Only in China. A Chinese Shanghai Shenhua fan made the news when he chucked his iPhone onto the field during a match against Shandong Luneng.
With Shanghai down 2-1 to Shandong, Brazil international Shandong player Diego Tardelli went to take the corner kick for Luneng. A frustrated Shanghai fan choose this moment to throw his iPhone at him. The phone missed its target, but Tardelli picked it up, showed it to the camera, and threw it back on the ground.
“Need an iPhone, but don’t want to speed any money? In China, crazy fans will meet your needs,” joked a European sports site. “Even more interesting is that a staff member picked up the phone, wanting to return it to its owner!”
