Thousands of Tencent employees surrounded the Tencent Shenzhen headquarters on February 26 to get their hands on a hongbao.
The founder of the company, Ma Huateng, handed out 5,000 of the envelopes filled with cash ranging from a measly 10 RMB to 100 RMB on the employees’ first day back after the holiday.
Some may say that’s not worth queueing up for hours for, but employees were apparently glad to have the rare opportunity to interact with the billionaire mogul.
