Qinghai Kekexili Nature Reserve Applies for World Natural Heritage Status

The gorgeous Kekexili Nature Reserve has started their application for world natural heritage status, the local government reported on Saturday according to the China Daily.

Kekexili is a 45,000 kilometer square reserve in one of the world’s most uninhabited lands, and is home to several endangered animal species, some endemic to China. The best way to visit is from Xining, Qinghai’s capital.

The local government plans to finish all preparation for the application by May 2017.
