National Anti-Pollution Mask Standard to be Determined Sooner

National Anti-Pollution Mask Standard to be Determined Sooner
Oct 17, 2014 By eChinacities.com

By the end of this year there is supposed to be a national standard for anti-pollution masks, China’s Standardization Administration has announced.

Although face masks are used so frequently, there is no national safety standard for them. New standards will define materials used, most effective designs and protective properties, and efficiency when filtering particles like PM2.5.

There will be three different standards for three levels of pollution: heavy, medium, and light pollution). Hopefully these standards will come sooner rather than later, as Northern China is being threatened by pollution yet again.
