Congratulations are in order for Wang Jianlin, owner of China’s biggest commercial land developer – the Dalian Wanda Group – who has recently been crowned the richest person in China.
With an estimated fortune of 14.2 billion USD, Wang now trumps Zong Qinghou, the founder of Hangzhou Wahaha Group, Baidu co-founder Robin Li and all these other billionaires.
Dalian Wanda Group acquired AMC Entertainment last year for 2.6 billion USD, making it the world’s largest movie theatre chain. In June, he has also acquired Sunseeker International for 1.6 billion USD, a maker of yachts used in James Bond movies.
