Golden Week Traveller Estimates New Record: 92.7 Million Passengers Expected

Between September 28 and October 7, during the 10 days of National Day celebrations, China Railway Corporation has estimated that 92.7 million people will be traveling. This means a daily average of 9.27 million people, up 12.9 percent from last year. October 1 is predicted to be the busiest day, with an estimated 11.6 million people en route, a historical record.

Beijing Railway Administration has published a notice that between September 29 and October 7, railway traffic will be heavy.

Meanwhile, over 2.85 million people who successfully bought tickets online are still waiting to receive them.
