Gang Arrested for Selling Corpses

The concept of ‘ghost marriage’ involves burying a recently passed single man next to a female corpse in order to ensure love between them for eternity in the afterlife. This Chinese concept has resurfaced in the media with the arrest of 11 men in Shandong involved in stealing and dealing in female corpses.

The Global Times reported that a suspect, surnamed Wang, claimed that he and eight others excavated the corpse of a woman in Tianqiao township, selling it to a man surnamed Liu in Hebei province for 18,000 RMB. Liu then sold it on to a bachelor, also in Hebei, for 38,000 RMB.

The news has quickly hit the international media, quoting Wang as saying that women who have recently passed are very valuable, as they can ensure a happy love life for the dead bachelor.

And in other news, a suspected terrorist was stoned to death and then barbecued and eaten in Congo, in revenge for recent attacks on villagers.
