Erratic Temperatures and Lots of “Tree Fluff” in Beijing this Week
Apr 08, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Temperatures in Beijing are expected to become erratic this week, with the mercury rising to 29℃ on Wednesday, only to fall sharply to 19℃ on Thursday.

If the China Meteorology Administration’s predictions are correct, this week could break the 2004 record for highest temperatures in April, which is currently set at 28℃. A gust of cold air is expected to blow the warm air away on Thursday, with overcast weather and a rapid drop in temperature taking its place.

What’s more, in case you haven’t noticed, Beijing’s “fluff” (i.e. the cottony balls from poplar and will trees) has started to float around the city earlier than usual, due to the unusually high temperatures so far this spring. Normally, this “tree fluff” begins its invasion around April 10 each year and lasts for about two weeks.
