The Nanjing Taiping Rebellion Historical Museum is China's only museum dedicated to the period of political strife from which it takes its name. The Taiping Rebellion (1851-1864) was a bloody civil war that occurred during the Qing Dynasty , resulting in the deaths of tens of millions of people before the Qing government was able to crush the revolt. This fascinating museum exhibits more than 2,100 artifacts from the rebellion, and encompasses a beautiful garden.
