JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Ambright American High School (+AP) Program is partnered with 10 leading public high schools across east China. The International College Counselor will support AHSP students, teachers, counselors and parents in educating them about higher education in the West. This support aligns with the program’s goal to prepare and equip students with the skills they need to matriculate and graduate from a 4 year college abroad, not just get accepted to their best fit school. This involves working with both the academic and counseling departments through a variety of means including: student education, parent education, teacher training and education, counselor training, and application process oversight.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with a group of senior 3 students and their counselors to help them prepare their school selection lists and application documents;
• Execute and further develop the counseling evaluation system for all Ambright students from senior 1 to senior 3, a part of the counseling program in conjunction with other counseling staff;
• Participate in parent meetings, informing parents about the importance of a well-rounded education compared to exam-focused education;
• Develop workshops and materials for teachers, counselors, and students to help them understand the university application process and prepare competitive applications;
• Other duties that may arise from supervisors.

NOTE: Ambright American High School (+AP) Program students are located along the east coast of China, which means occasional business trips to partner schools to conduct the evaluations and work with the students will be required.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Native English speaker
• Strong education background (bachelor’s degree at minimum)
• TEFL/TESOL certificate preferred (required if having less than two years' work experience)
• Cross cultural awareness
• Must be able to relocate to China soon
