General Duties and Responsibilities

English Proficiency Evaluation
• Conducting interviews with prospective students either face to face or via an Internet VOIP platform.
Responsible for completing Oral Proficiency Assessment Form and accurately logging resulting student
performance for admissions staff.
• Responsible for analyzing interview results for Student Affairs Staff.
• Cooperate with Student Affairs and American admissions office to critically reevaluate the interview
process, more clearly explaining standards and criteria for students to achieve a passing grade.
• Collecting data on student performance after matriculation; comparing and analyzing the interview results
with student performance.

Program Promotion
• Assisting the marketing and recruiting team to promote and introduce CERNET Education’s international
and domestic programs to students, parents and the cooperating institutions.
• Assisting with reviewing the English website, training materials and promotional materials.
• Assisting with student services.
• Liaising with American representatives and partners.
• Extensive travel within mainland China for marketing events and education fairs over the course of two
recruiting seasons. Heavy travel is required from October to November and mid March to July.
Professional Development
• Attend and instruct continuing education classes with colleagues with topics focusing on cross cultural
communication, business, and sales.
Candidate Requirements:
• Minimum of 2 years experience in education, marketing, and/or international sales.
• Native level English speaker with advanced communication skills.
• Comfort with public speaking especially in an ESL environment
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Preferred Requirements:
• Intermediate to advanced level of Mandarin Chinese
• Experience in international education, education service, international education marketing, and/or
education management with a Sino-American focus
• Bachelor’s degree from a U.S. university
• Strong interpersonal skills and cross cultural understanding
• Enthusiasm for travelling in mainland China

• This position has a high demand 6 months out of the year when the employee is expected to travel
regularly on weekends while performing student assessments in the office during the week. Days off will
be taken mid week and additional overtime will be paid out in the form of 1:1 vacation time. This vacation
time can be built and used during the down season in recruiting. Interview officers regularly take extended
vacation for Christmas, Chinese New Year, and/or during the summer.
