A man whom received his drivers license after two long years of work decided to celebrate the occasion by hosting a banquet. Driving home after having a few drinks however, the license that he had for less than a day was suspended. Chongqing's Yubei District police said the man was also fined 1000 RMB in addition to having his license suspended.
All the way back at the end of year 2013, a man surnamed Tan registered at a driving school to study for a C1 class driving license, hoping also to eventually buy a sedan for his work commute. Due to working constraints, Mr. Tan could only attend classes on the weekends. Weather permitting or not, after a long effort Mr. Tan finally was finally awarded a driving license this month.
In order to celebrate receiving his driving license and to thank his driving instructor and friends, Mr. Tan decided to celebrate the occasion by treating them to a banquet in a restaurant, even borrowing a friend’s car to pick them up. During the banquet, Mr. Tan and others chatted and toasted each other gleefully. Not long after, the guests unknowingly consumed two cases of beer, Mr. Tan himself having drank five bottles.
Departing after dinner, a very happy Mr. Tan insisted on driving the guests home. Noticing Mr. Tan’s willingness to drive while drunk, his driving instructor began to repeatedly advise him against it. Yet in the end Mr. Tan paid no heed to the advice and confidently declared the “little bit” of alcohol to be of minuscule significance. According to Tan, everybody lived close enough and he wouldn’t have any problems while driving that short of a distance.
Unable to dissuade Mr. Tan, the driving instructor dropped the situation and everybody got in the car with Mr. Tan at the wheel.
Driving his friends home, Mr. Tan didn’t make it too far when he met a roadblock where the Yubei traffic police were checking for drunk drivers. After he was stopped and breathalyzed, Mr. Tan’s was arrested for driving while drunk.
The traffic police were very critical of Mr. Tan’s drunk driving, deducting 12 points from his driver’s license, sticking him with a 1000 RMB fine, and taking away his license for six months. When the police discovered that Mr. Tan’s license had only been issued for a day and that his C1 license was still in a probationary period, the police instead applied for the right to cancel his C1 driving license altogether.

Well, it's better he lost it on the same day than later on during an accident that caused lots of harm
