High School Librarian

Position: High School Librarian
Qualifications: Demonstrates interest in and aptitude for performing the tasks listed. Prior training or experience in a library setting is preferable.
Goal: To support students’ and staff with a variety of books for both academic and leisure reading. Create an environment where students and staff feel welcome and encouraged to read a variety of genres of literature and to practice speaking in English.
Performance Responsibilities:
Performs duties assigned by the Director of Instruction. All employees must maintain a professional attitude and demeanor.
 To ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information.
 To empower students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information.
 To instill a love of learning in all students and ensure equitable access to information.
 To purchase books, enter them in to the data base, and manage their collection.
 When the school moves to the new campus, select, and implement an electronic card catalog system
 Other comparable duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Salary: RMB15,000 to RMB19,000 (salary based on level of education, credential, and experience)
Additional benefits of paid plane flights, housing, food, insurance and transportation are included in the contract.
Start Date: August 15th, 2017
