On August 27, a British, American and Costa Rican tourist went to Nanning Station, only to discover that a restaurant had made some translation mistakes. Their discoveries made the Chinese media, who apparently, had never realised that Chinese mistranslations had been going viral abroad for years.
In the restaurant, a pork dish was completely mistranslated and the mistranslations weren’t even spelled correctly. On top of that, a nearby park had some more issues. In the park, “tourist” was misspelled as “tourlst”, and “complaints” as “complains”.
Other mistakes are also visible everywhere. For example “caution, slippery” was translated as “keep off the water”, a fitness path was translated as “the healthy body steps on.”
Fortunately, the train station had few issues. Here, for example, “Fire Exit, Do Not Block” is translated as “Fire Exit, Forbidden to Jam!”, and “public drinking water” is translated as “free water”, but they still caused a chuckle.

there is exercise equipment in a Beijing park that invites you to 'violate' yourself on it in numerous ways.

My all-time favourite was for a confectionery shop. Obviously they lost their internet connection but they pressed on in naive, energetic Chinese fashion and put up a sign that said Translate Server Error. There's a massage shop that has a sign "Free yourself from the misery of existence".
